The federal 21st Century Cures Act requires Electronic Visit Verification for Medicaid personal care services (since January 2020) and home health services (since January 2023) in every state. For Colorado agencies, that means visits billed to Health First Colorado must be electronically verified.
Colorado agencies must verify visits electronically for Health First Colorado. States run EVV one of two ways — a single state system (a designated aggregator you send visit data to) or an open/provider-choice model (you use any compliant EVV solution). Confirm Colorado’s current model with Health First Colorado or your managed care organization.
