EVV is mandatory for Minnesota Medicaid home care
The federal 21st Century Cures Act requires Electronic Visit Verification for Medicaid personal care services (since January 2020) and home health services (since January 2023) in every state. For Minnesota agencies, that means visits billed to Minnesota Medical Assistance must be electronically verified.
Minnesota agencies must verify visits electronically for Minnesota Medical Assistance. States run EVV one of two ways — a single state system (a designated aggregator you send visit data to) or an open/provider-choice model (you use any compliant EVV solution). Confirm Minnesota’s current model with Minnesota Medical Assistance or your managed care organization.
